Japanese Camellia

The Plein Air Painters of Chicago met at the Garfield park Conservatory one Saturday morning and I was glad to have made it out. Painting in the conservatory made it a little easier to spend more time on the subject with the light staying a little more constant since it was filtered through the glass.

Painting flowers from life is not easy. Well, not when you only have 2 hours. It seems so easy but taking all of the busy details and breaking them down into simple shapes always helps.
