Artopolis 2011
Every year at the Merchandise Mart here in Chicago a huge art show takes place. 2-3 floor of the mart are filled with art. This year only 2 floors are taken up by the show.
This is the third year I’ve gone and the first year I went to the antique floor. Honestly, I thought the floor was filled with rugs, candlesticks, and furniture. So, I always skipped it. This year I started there out of curiosity. I hit the jackpot! There was some amazing paintings up there. Now I can only guess what I’ve missed in the past.
The other floor features the NEXT show (newer artist) and the other section is Art Chicago which features galleries from all over the world.
I only had my iPone camera but I thought I would share here some of the gems of the show.
